Artificial Intelligence revamping exercise routines in the age of COVID-19
Fitness routines have changed a lot during the pandemic. More people are opting to take their workout outside or choosing an indoor setting with minimal people. Owner of The Exercise Coach in Brookfield Kristine Staral says their business model relies on smart technology that allows individuals to get the optimum workout in the shortest amount of time. "Our focus is on muscle quality over movement quantity- so it's a safe, effective, and efficient workout and by that I mean our clients only need to commit to 2- 20 minute workouts a week. We do use smart technology along with certified coaches," said Staral.
NVIDIA AI Podcast: The Next Hans Zimmer? How AI May Create Music for Videogames, Exercise Routines
Imagine Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as an algorithm. At our annual GTC Technology Conference in May, our video from the keynote, titled "I Am AI," featured music that was composed by AI itself. To accomplish this, we enlisted the help of Pierre Barreau and his startup, Aiva Technologies, which uses deep learning to create music. Barreau credits growing up in a "family of artists" as his reason for wanting to bring AI into music. "I'm a self-taught pianist and I also studied computer science at university," Barreau said in conversation with AI Podcast host Michael Copeland.
Can A Chatbot Solve USA's Physical Inactivity Problem?
Some people find it easy to engage in physical activities but research found that America is not as active as it seems to be. Mastering an active lifestyle is about good time management and developing physical exercise routines. A gym subscription, a workout buddy, a personal fitness trainer or weekly runs through the park can all contribute to a healthy exercise routine. According to the participation report released in 2015 by the Physical Activity Council, 25% of Americans live a sedentary lifestyle. Doctors are warning about the effects of physical inactivity which increases the risk for high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, and obesity, while also putting a person at risk of anxiety and depression.
